Supply Chain Management SCM

The competitive dynamics within the business landscape are changing rapidly and this has created a new playing field in Singapore and globally.
Over the next decade, the economic landscape in the Middle East looks set to change dramatically, while Asia will continue to surge, led by the re-emergence of China and India and a revitalised ASEAN.
The growing interaction and awareness between the two regions have seen Singapore businesses increasingly involved in China, India, ASEAN and the Middle East.

As Singapore continues to gain prominence as an international business centre well-placed to ride on this wave of economic transformation, there will always be a demand for professionals in the areas of Business Management, Human Resource, Supply Chain, Retail and Customer Relationship Management.
Diploma in Business Management is designed to develop graduates with a solid foundation in broad-based areas of business management with strong entrepreneurial skills and ICT based learning application taking centre-stage.

Therefore, Supply Chain Students are able to get hands-on experience while in TEP and then when they are attached in IPP

Industrial Placement Programme IPP

The School of Business Management Industrial Placement Programme (IPP) provides students in their final year with a 10-week attachment to a business organisation.
The main objective of the Industrial Placement Programme is to help ensure our students are exposed to the real working world and to prepare them for ready absorption into the workforce after graduation.

This IPP exposure will also provide them the practical work exposure and enable students to acquire the required skills to contribute effectively to the business and commerce section of our economy.
A cohort of some 400 students from the following Diplomas will be available for attachment twice a year.

• Diploma in Accountancy and Finance
• Diploma in Business Management
• Diploma in Banking & Financial Services
• Diploma in Fund Management & Administration
• Diploma in Marketing
• Diploma in Sport and Wellness Management

The main attachment periods are Feb-April and Aug to October, a duration of 10 weeks each.
Through its extensive networks with industry, our students are placed out to companies spanning the service, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, financial services and IT sectors.

The experience and exposure NYP students obtain through the industrial placement programme will stand them in good stead when they enter the workforce.
IPP will also enable students to put what they have learnt in the classrooms into practice as students will not only make use of their technical knowledge, example business accounting, but also the soft skills like communications and customer relationship management.

The School has pioneered a number of innovative programmes to help enhance creative thinking among the young and to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

Training Enterprise Project

All Nanyang Polytechnic Students under Diploma in Business Management have to go through Training Enterprise Project (TEP).
This TEP concept is a very unique and innovative concept of training where students undergo practice-based learning through attachments with real business centres within the campus.

The concept involves simulating authentic industry environment and facilities within the campus, so that students are trained on the latest equipment and follow actual industry practices.
They have the opportunity to work on industry-commissioned projects, supervised by staff with extensive industry experience.
Business students are scheduled to operate real business centres set up in the campus by the School of Business Management .

These business centres include Centre for Business Innovation (CBI), Customer Relationship Management Call Centre (CRMCC), International Business Resource Centre (IBRC), Marketing Services Centre (MSC) and Business Services Unit (BSU), amongst others.
These businesses provide a platform for actual hands-on training for our students.
